Your Bio

Since October 2007 I've been shooting with a Pentax K100D. My lenses are the 18-55mm kit, Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8, Tamron 70-300mm LD Di (which IMO is a heckuva bargain at ~ $130) and the Raynox DCR-150 macro adapter, which is a cheap macro "add-on" lens that can be difficult to use, but produces nice results for less than $50. I also have the Pentax AF-360FGZ flash. Prior to the Pentax setup, I had a Fuji S6000fd ultrazoom, a lovely camera.
When post-processing my photos, I try, for the most part, to maintain the spirit in which they were shot. So while I may crop some, it's usually 10-15% and I try to keep the same proportions as the original shot. I am constantly trying to learn to improve every facet of my picture-taking. If you should happen to find a photo that tickles your fancy, or one you find useful, by all means download it! All my pics are uploaded as full size photos. Just please, be honest and do not take credit for the work. Cheers!

@ the birdfeeder : It took the local birds about 36 hours to really "discover" the bird feeders. I have 3 windows that I can shoot through, although the quality suffers a little bit. This is a nice way to get fairly decent full-body shots, although photographing birds in the wild is more authentic, IMO. These shots are with the Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di lens - a great value at just ~ $130.

The Big Awful Zoom - test shots : My brother gave me the Phoenix (also sold as Opteka and Samyang) 650-1300mm lens as a birthday present. Manual focus, push-pull zoom, fixed aperture... yeah, high-tech stuff. For bright-light use only, and kinda fun under the right circumstances. Here are some initial test shots.

Catography - Yeats : Yeats is a shelter cat we adopted at the same time as Calhoun. Laura saw Calhoun and fell in love instantly; I was drawn to this quiet little boy in the corner, sick as can be. The moment I saw him, I knew I needed to take care of him. It was several anxious weeks before we could take him home; he nearly died from a severe upper respiratory infection. He is the sweetest, snuggliest thing you can imagine.
